💞 Announcement: Big Changes Coming to the Creature Cravings Series
I sat on this decision for a year before following through. I can't wait to hear what you think of it.
Have you ever considered a big change, but held on to it for month out of fear?
I’ve been thinking on a decision for almost a year and am finally ready to share it.
The Original Creature Cravings Series Is Being Pulled From Platforms
After careful consideration, I am pulling the Creature Cravings series (from my pen name Rachel H. Drake) off of retailers and my website on July 31st. I’ll be replacing them with re-written, re-branded, and re-tooled versions in a new series called Lily Hills Creatures.
💞 What’s Changing (and What’s Staying)
The heart of each couple’s story will be staying, as well as the general plot arcs. The spice? Still here. But the reader experience? We’re going deeper, with more lore, cozier, and with more yearning before the couples get together.
Here’s what you can expect:
Dual POVs, finally! (And in the case of book five, three POVs)
Longer books with more buildup, more world building, and more cozy moments.
Stronger small-town fantasy vibes, anchoring in Lily Hills and its adjacent magical forests.
New titles and covers that actually reflect what the series feels like to readers. I love the original more dramatic covers, but it doesn’t suit the direction of the series.
New characters and settings! What small magical town doesn’t have a coffee shop? You are going to love the shop owner, Beatrice.
And yes... more books.
Book five is a why choose romance with two werewolves and a fairy. Book six? A kraken romance, set off the coast of Lily Hills.
Book seven? I kind of want to write it, it’s sneaking up on me, but that may come more down the line.
The vision of what the books could be finally became real once I contracted a new cover designer and got a proof of the first book. Seeing it was all the confirmation I needed, as the story felt alive again in a way it hasn’t in a long time, and I’m so excited for the new evolved worlds I’ll be bringing to my readers.
I can’t wait to show you what’s coming.

🌼 Q: What if I already bought the books?
If you read the original versions of the books, don’t worry. You are not being left behind. Every reader who bought the first versions of Haunt, Only, Blaze, and Bite will be getting the new ebooks for free.
Even if you bought the books during a free promo day, you’ll be able to get the new version for free. I’ll be setting up a form on my website (coming later this summer) where you can claim the updates as they release with your previous proof of purchase.
If you bought paperbacks, you’ll be able to repurchase the new editions at cost (printing cost + shipping cost), with no added profit for me, just a thank-you for supporting the original version.
Read the stories while they were in KU? I’ll be spacing out free promo days for each new release so you can grab them again without having to buy out of pocket, since that is not how you originally bought the books.
🥰 The Creature Cravings Spin Off Series
One of the biggest drivers for me wanting to make this change is the world I’m developing with the children of the Creature Cravings characters.
Because there has to be a spin-off series of a magical academy of all these paranormal babies. You thought these magical babies would do well in public school?! 🏫 🏰 No, they need a castle in the forest.
I’m aiming right now for the spin off to start in late 2026, but it all depends on how quickly I can release books 1-6. To make this spin off a reality, there is more I wanted to establish in the main world first.

It’s a big change, and I’m so proud of how my life evolved through writing and publishing these original books. Yet, I know the best is yet to come for the series and for us as a collective 🥹
